Né en Grande-Bretagne en 1961, Tayo a commencé ses études au Nigeria avant de le poursuivre aux Etats-Unis. Il a publié son premier dessin à l'âge de 17 ans dans un magazine nigérian pour enfants. Tayo travaille régulièrement pour la presse nationale nigériane (Concord, The Ouardian, The Daily Times, Punch...). Depuis 13 ans, il est le dessinateur de West Africa, l'hebdomadaire panafricain édité à Londres. Ses dessins figurent dans la collection permanente du musée international de la Caricature de Boca Raton, en Floride.
TAYO Fatunla
began cartooning in 1978. He is a Cartoonist, Graphic artist,
Designer, Caricaturist and Illustrator. He was a resident
artist, at Lewisham College 1996/97, a college Southeast of
London. Born in Wimbledon, England in 1961 ,TAYO
had his cartooning education at the Joe Kubert School of
Cartoon and Graphic Art, New Jersey USA. His works have been
published internationally in magazines, newspapers and books
around the world. He is the first African Cartoonist to have
his drawings syndicated on regular basis by Cartoonists &
Writers Syndicate, New York TAYO has
exhibited his works in Finland, Nigeria, and France. the US
and the U.K. In 1991, TAYO
published his first successful illustrated book on African
Heritage highlighting the achievements of Black people around
the world titled OUR
ROOTS, which is now a syndicated feature. TAYO is
also a member of the Cartoon Art Trust, London and the
National Cartoonists Society, U.S He is married with two children
